Let me start off by saying, I don’t understand hash tags. It seemed appropriate for this, but who knows? I’m still getting use to twitter, as I think it is a good job skill for the future even if I don’t use it for personal stuff.
Anyway, on to yard sales. I grew up going. Literally think my parents stopped at one on the way to the hospital when my mom was in labor! (No, I was born in January so I doubt there was one, but I am sure I was strapped in the car seat at two months old to go)
I liked yard sales when I needed things or had a place to put things.
In my oh-so-age of 28, I find I no longer want the things, the clutter, that I had as a child. I keep trying to purge, even more so as I have two bedrooms (one by work and one at my moms). Stuff makes me itchy.
However, books are my weakness. Books for a quarter? Ok! Above is my pile from this morning. Add it to the other 100 or so I hid around my room because I ran out of bookcase space. Lovely.
Worse part is I didn’t even want to go! Mom guilts me until I go. All I bought was this pile of books, there’s nothing else out there I need and even less that I want!
Mom bought more than me, but pointless stuff. Such as:
What do u do with this ugly spider?! Ugh.
It sounds great! All you have to do is add one cup of water, shake a bit, and then pour into a cupcake pan. Easy.
However, a lot of the batter gets stuck to the sides and I had to work to even get 12 cupcakes out of it. (See picture below) I let it sit upside down for a good 5 minutes and scooped a little from the more full ones to get that 12th cupcake. Also, it takes the fun out of licking the bowl.
This is a good product for someone who needs a small amount of treats. I wanted something small to take to work, but I didn’t need a lot of cupcakes because there are only 6 of us at my office. If you were making for a larger office or a classroom, you would probably need two of these.
Here they are all done! I am sure you are wondering… didn’t she say she made 12?
1. I ate one. I mean, you can’t give out a product you haven’t sampled. They were airy and fell apart in my hand. But they will do.
2. I go to decorated them and I reach for the sprinkles and start pouring… OOPS, those little green leaves are NOT sprinkles. I accidentally grab oregano. I scraped it off, but I will not serve that one to anyone… except maybe my brother.
Welcome to my life. Oops.
I am not sure I understand why baby clothes is so expensive.
For one thing, it takes little cloth! 2ndly, they wear it for a short amount of time.
I went to jcpenney today. They had sent me a free $10 off $10 coupon. I’m poor and have to take these opportunities when they come.
I don’t know if you know, but they are again remodeling their image to include sales again. They had racks of women’s shirts for $3 and $4 up to $20 for jackets. Nothing struck my fancy, but didn’t want to waste my coupon so meandered over to the baby section. I have a niece turning two and a new nephew in April!
Everything in this section was $5-$15. What the… How comes I can get a grown up shirt for so little but have to PAY more for a baby.
And has anyone seen this label on kids pjs? It made me laugh. Pretty sure they weren’t on there when I was little.
About a month ago, there was a deal for signing up for Just Fab and getting a pair of shoes for $19.95. I jumped on it, getting knee high boots. However, my calves were not meant for knee high boots, so I had to send them back (sad day). I got ankle high boots instead. I love them!
This is one of those programs like the Disney Movie Club where you will get charged monthly for a new pair of shoes (every pair is $39.95 normal price). However, for new customers, they are running a promotion where you get BOGO shoes! They have all kinds of shoes and such for women-high heels, flats, ‘booties’, knee highs and more.
I think it is worth at least a look. You could get your BOGO and then cancel your membership.
Highly recommend the Jola bootie!
